Thanksgiving 2020

Please join us for good company and celebration!

The Roosevelt Club, part of the Nottingham Roosevelt Memorial Travelling Scholarship, were hoping to invite our alumni, supporters and local representatives to spend a warm and cheerful evening celebrating everything the scholarship has achieved in its 71st year.

However, like many things this year, plans haven’t turned out quite as expected.
Therefore, following the success of our previous Thanksgiving event we would like to invite you to a special, free, virtual Thanksgiving celebration on Wednesday 25th November, 6pm – 7pm, via Zoom.

We are delighted to announce this will include key note speeches from previous scholars Nick Beighton, CEO of ASOS, and Chris Aylett, Chief Executive of the Motorsport Industry Association.

You will also hear directly from our Chairman, Mick Burrows, who has been at the helm for four years and will share plans for the future of the scholarship. In addition, our recently returned 2020 Mayflower Scholar, Tom Cable, will talk us through his journey, discussing both what motivated and challenged him. We will welcome those who would like to ask questions.

Further to our special line up of speakers, we are also excited to share information about a new fundraising opportunity available to scholarship donors this year. It is a fantastic new initiative for 2020 that will match fund £1,000 of donations to the scholarship made between now and the new year.

For more information about the match funding, drop 2018 scholar Tori Harrison an email, visit our website or please send a cheque payable to Nottingham Roosevelt Memorial Travelling Scholarship with “Thanksgiving” marked on the reverse. We will acknowledge your success in doubling your donation when thanking you.

With so much to share with you, we would love you to join us virtually on Wednesday 25th November.

RSVP via Eventbrite

Please RSVP on Eventbrite or by contacting me at secretary@rooseveltscholarship.org . We will share the joining instructions with you and answer any questions you may have ahead of the event. We can also provide personal support for those new to virtual events; if you’d like additional help, or if you have any difficulty accessing the Zoom link on the day, please get in touch.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and peaceful season.
