Catrin Rees

Catrin is a curious and passionate professional working in a local charity that supports young people and their families to move forwards after sexual abuse and domestic abuse. Cat moved to Nottingham in 2021 from Cardiff, Wales, and fell in love with it.

During the week, she advises and advocates for young people moving through the criminal justice process after making a report of sexual abuse to the police; preparing for and accompanying them to court, offering psychoeducation around the nature of trauma and survival, and empowering young people to take back ownership of their lives and voices after abuse. Outside of work, she loves to explore the natural beauty of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, swim in her local leisure centre and outdoors in Colwick lake, and read crime thrillers, memoirs, and romance novels!

Cat will be travelling to the USA in 2025 to explore the culture and context of states on the East and West coast, and how they protect vulnerable people, bringing back new and ambitious ideas around the support and safeguarding of survivors of child sexual abuse in Nottingham/shire.
